BACKGROUND
Stream Brazil is a full service, qualitative and quantitative research agency, opened in 2013.
It is the result of the pooling together of diverse experiences, those of the founding partners: on the one side Raf Manna and Nick Head, who have spent their entire research careers co-ordinating international projects across the globe. On the other side, Joao Paulo Strang Simi and Alessandra Borges, whose focus has instead always been on the receiving end of international projects, managing their Brazilian leg, whether qualitative or quantitative.
Raf and Nick's paths crossed with Joao’s in the early years of the century, when they set up Stream International in London and started to co-operate with Joao in projects involving Brazil.
Over the years, the continued growth of Brazil and the consequent strong demand for research projects there from Stream International's clients have contributed to strengthen our ties.
With Raf's almost permanent move to Brazil and Joao's departure from his previous agency, the creation of Stream Brazil seemed therefore inevitable. An agency with a special characteristic: coherent with the spirit that led to its creation, Stream Brazil is primarily dedicated to providing full service fieldwork in Brazil to foreign agencies.
PHILOSOPHY
We have made a conscious choice to concentrate on servicing foreign agencies and therefore we do not actively seek work from client companies. We believe that having been on both sides of the fence for so long puts us in a privileged position to understand the complexities of international co-ordination. Hence the decision to capitalise on this special skill, rather than dispersing our efforts in trying to service client companies directly.
Our backgrounds, inspire a vision of research as a tool to achieve clear, actionable business solutions.More specifically, when analysing individual country results, we always try not to lose sight of the global picture and have the flexibility to adapt our recommendations according to international overall requirements.
Last but not least, recruitment: our experience in international co-ordination has alerted us on the potential for disaster which can arise from bad recruitment. We therefore dedicate proper efforts in finding the right respondents and always have a face to face briefing with the recruiters to make sure that the screener works and all questions are clear. Moreover, as the right respondent today may not be equally suitable tomorrow, we have very strict rules on respondents’ participation to research: no more than 3 times a year and never on a related subject, even when there is no specific provision on the screener.
